Max Donald Lail, 81 of W. Stagecoach Trail, Lawndale, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Rutherford County, NC on September 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Lee Herbert Lail and Eliza Lovella Ledford Lail. Mr. Lail was retired from Ticona and attended Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trudy Cloninger Lail; three brothers, Herbert, Robert and David Lail; two sisters, Edna Hensley and Betty Butler; brother-in-law, Jerry Cloninger; brother-in-law, Dan Cloninger and wife, Marilyn and aunt, Dorothy Lee.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Lail and husband, Jerry of Boiling Springs and Raye Bridges and husband, Jerry of Cliffside; a brother, Bill Lail of Shelby; special nephew, Greg Cloninger and wife, Diane and their sons, Daniel and Dillon; sister-in-law, Vivian Cloninger and her children, Michal, Tony, Kelly and Eric; cousin, Jatha Austin and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 3:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harry Queen officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
