Megan Elizabeth Lavender

Megan Elizabeth Lavender
Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
Megan Elizabeth Lavender passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025. Born September 7,1998, she was the daughter of Jody Lavender, and Christina Lowe Lavender. Her birth, through her short journey here on this earth, is a treasured gift that will continue to be cherished. Megan was fierce, determined, and loved hard, but above all, Megan was a "Light", which has abundantly shown through all the many testimonies of the lives she touched. If you asked Megan, where home was, she would, without hesitation tell you, "Bentonville, Arkansas." She loved growing up in Bentonville! This is where she found Jesus. Through countless bible studies with the Bramels, and her girls, who she loved dearly, she accepted Jesus into her heart, and was baptized along with her family, as a public profession of faith. This is where her lifelong friendships were made. This is where she thrived, and attributes most of her success. She was a proud Bentonville High Tiger! Megan was a dedicated student at the Inferno Martial Arts Studio, where she earned her black belt in mixed martial arts. Megan loved both competition, and high school cheer-leading. She graduated and earned her diploma from Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida, where she was also a member of the Lion's lacrosse team, and a participant and coach with the cheer-leading team. Megan graduated with her associates degree from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina. Megan was in her final semester obtaining her bachelor's degree in business management from Campbell University. Her father Jody instilled the value of education in Megan at an early age, along with the importance of a secure future. Megan was determined to follow the path he laid out for her, to the absolute best of her ability. Megan's giving heart, and zest to help others, led her to becoming a volunteer with a humanitarian aid organization, UNICEF. Megan was a ray of sunshine. Her infectious smile, personality, and spirit could light up the darkest room. Megan was a daddy's girl, to her father's delight. Megan loved her mother and father with her whole heart and strived to be the best daughter she could. Megan loved her sister Samantha. She was doubly blessed by Samantha, because not only was she her sister, but also her friend. Samantha was the friend Megan never had to look for. Megan adored Samantha, in part because she made her life better. Megan loved her fiancé Rawley. Her love for him was unconditional and unwavering, and she was looking forward to their future together. Megan loved her family and her friends fiercely. If you were her friend, you were her family. Megan's love and light will be missed dearly by all who know and love her, while treasuring the lasting memories she leaves with them.
