Melinda Wood Gossett, age 51, of Mooresboro, passed away, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Melinda was born January 1, 1969 in Rutherford County to the late Jerry Wood and Sue Shires. She was a homemaker who enjoyed music, writing poetry and riding motorcycles, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Terry and Frank Wood and a sister, Susan Terry Kennedy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charlie Gossett; daughter, Malena Jones (Scottie) of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Keith Godfrey, Blake Jones, Cameron Watt, Haven Jones and Sani Jones; a special mother-in-law, Agnes Gossett of Mooresboro and a host of extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2020 with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
