Melissa "Missy" Mae Greene, age 47, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her residence in Spindale, NC. Missy was born on March 22, 1972 and was a native of Rutherford County.
Missy was preceded in death by her sister, Myra Jane Kelly. She was the daughter of Maxine McKinney and stepfather, Paul McKinney of Forest City. Missy is survived by her two children; Justin S. McKinney (Kindra) of Caroleen, and Shelby D. McKinney of Shiloh. Missy leaves two sisters, Charlene Anderson (Ron) of Caroleen, and Tina Kelly (Michael Heartford) of Forest City; along with five nieces and nephews.
Missy worked as a grill cook/waitress. She enjoyed her pets and time spent with her children and family. She enjoyed spending time on the riverbank, working puzzles and board games. Missy was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside Baptist Church on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ted Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Abounding Grace Ministry at P.O. Box 361, Rutherfordton, NC 28139
