Mr. Michael Dean Surratt was born April 9, 1953, and he peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025. He passed away at Atrium Health Cleveland, Shelby, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Noah Surratt and Clarice Sweezy.

Michael worked various jobs in his career at PPG and Azdell Corporation, both located in Shelby, North Carolina and General Motors located in Atlanta, Georgia. Michael was a avid sports fan, with his favorite teams being the Duke Blue Devils and the New England Patriots. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clarice Sweezy; and father, Noah Surratt; daughter, Emonti Surratt; two brothers, Noah Surratt Jr. and Bobby Gene Surratt; two sisters, Phyllis Ann Petty and Clevie Surratt Littlejohn.

Left to cherish his fond memories are his wife of 38 years, Jacqueline Surratt; three children, Maurice Lewis (Kwanya), Sonya Chambers McDowell (Mark), Montrice Allison (Reggie); grandson, Kendall Brooks (Victoria); two great grandson's, Kayson and Kobe Brooks; special friends, Laray and Charles Leach; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held of Saturday, June 21, 2025at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
