Michael James Wood, age 60, passed away Sunday May 22, 2022.

Born in Cleveland County on August 14, 1961, he was the son of the late James Henry Wood and Margaret Louise Whitaker Wood. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Kent Harmon. Mike was a dedicated and respected employee of Reliance/Baldor for upwards of 37 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and gardening, however, his greatest love was his family. Mike was known to have a special place in his heart for his two granddaughters Audrey and Lucy.

Mike is survived by his three children, Lee Wood (Ashley), Dustin Wood (Miranda) and Lindsey Wood Morrison (David). Also left to cherish his memory, his sister, Karen Wood Harmon and two grandchildren Audrey and Lucy Wood.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday May 28, 2022 at the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Bowling officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 10AM - 11Am prior to the service.

By honoring Mike's wishes, the family has asked that those in attendance wear casual attire for the service Saturday.
