Mr. Michael Kemp Bivens, 46 of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Diana Warf Bivens of the home, children, Mason Gorrell, Catherine "CG" Grace Bivens, Marlee Bivens, and Michael Patrick Bivens, a brother, Frank Commodore Bivens III and Abby of Blacksburg, SC, and a sister, Laura Bivens Champion and husband Scott of Shelby, NC, a half-brother, Dr. Robert F. Bivens and wife Maggie of Elizabethtown, KY, a half-sister, Kathryn Vining and husband Richard of Gastonia, NC.
Born April 28, 1970 in Welch, WV, Mr. Bivens was the son of the late Frank Commodore Bivens, Jr. and Katheryn Marie Kemp Bivens and was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Edward Bivens.
Mr. Bivens loved riding his Harley motorcycles and his four wheelers with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing his guitar, and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his children. He always brought a smile to anyone that knew him. Michael never met a stranger and would help anyone that needed it. He was always thoughtful and polite.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 pm, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Andy Stevens. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
