Michael Scott Coffey

SHELBY- Mr. Michael Scott Coffey, Sr., of Shelby, went to be with his Lord, Friday, February, 1, 2013 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Marion County Indiana, he was born August 14, 1967, son of Janet Henricks Coffey of Indianapolis, Indiana and the late Mike Coffey. He was employed by Nestle in Gaffney and was a very active member with his family at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain where he served as director for the Master Clubs. He loved his family, his church, and his Lord.

 

PRECEDED: In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Lynn Coffey.

 

SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife Melinda Warner Coffey of the home; six sons, Michael Scott Coffey, Jr., Jonathan Daniel Coffey, Adam Christopher Coffey, Nathanael Grant Coffey, Andrew Jordan Coffey, and Caleb Matthew Coffey; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne Coffey all of the home; one brother, Joseph Andrew Coffey of Fountain Hills, Arizona.

 

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Maranatha Baptist Church in Shelby.

 

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, 6-7:30 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

 

CLERGY: Pastors Jim Ogle, Larry Brubaker, and Charles Surrett will be officiating and reading his dad’s eulogy will be his son Jonathan Coffey.

 

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.

 

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Ambassador Baptist College, 101 Stockton St. Lattimore, NC 28089 or Cleveland County Hospice, 951 Wendover Heights Dr. Shelby, NC 28150.
