Michael Thomas Jolly age 62 died Sunday April 10, 2016 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on October 1, 1953 he was the son of Jane Amelia Putnam Jolly of Shelby and the late Thomas Edward Jolly. Michael was a former member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He retired from Michelin Tire in Spartanburg after a number of years of service. Michael loved Rock n Roll guitars and football. His sense of humor was infectious and he was friendly and outgoing. He loved his family and rested in the assurance of being reunited with loved ones, thanks to the blood shed by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by a step-son, Tyler Patrick and partner Will Nordbruch of Greensboro; a brother, Stephen Edward Jolly and wife Kathy of Shelby; a sister, Miriam and husband Eddy Satterfield Jr. of Shelby; a number of beloved nieces and nephews and other loving family.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 5:30 pm at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Trexler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm in the sanctuary.
