Mickey Dwayne Mays passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Atrium Health Pineville.

Dwayne transitioned peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on June 21, 1988 in Gastonia, North Carolina. Dwayne is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Briand.

Dwayne is survived by his brothers, Steven Mays (Megan Carscaddon), and Christopher Mays, and niece Georgia Carscaddon.

The family extends the most heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Rodney, Michelle, Brandon, Casey, and family for all the love and support shown to Dwayne over the years.

Finally, Dwayne is survived by the absolute light of his life, his daughter, Ainsleigh Grace Kimball. Ainsleigh meant more to him than anything ever did. She lit up his world and was able to soften the hardest of her daddy's edges and show him the best parts of himself. Dwayne lives on through her as he was finally able to break his rusty cage and run.
