Micki Lynn Hamrick

Micki Lynn Hamrick passed away Monday, September 6 2021, after a 31 year battle with primary progressive multiple sclerosis. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents Edwin Wayne and Judy Campbell Hamrick and grandparents Julian and Louise Campbell, Dick and Etta Hamrick and step grandfather James Hamilton.

Lynn is survived by her husband Bruce Mark Hamrick, her brother Rick Hamrick, a sister-in-law Terri Hamrick Caldwell (Chip), a brother-in-law Freddie Hamrick (Sandra) and nephews Chris Hamrick and Tanner Hamrick. In addition, she is survived by her great Aunts, Ann Mauney Williams, and Sue Kester Mauney.
Lynn received her undergraduate degree from Gardner Webb University and her masters from Western Carolina. An educator, author, and MS warrior Lynn inspired many. She was employed as an elementary school Teacher with Cleveland County Schools. She penned two books. The first chronicling her experience as a Palliative care resident of Hospice, entitled Living Among the Dying. The second, a children's book, entitled Alice Tries. As a MS warrior Lynn used her talents to raise funds and awareness for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She also encouraged others near and far living with MS.

The family would like to express their gratitude to those who provided home
care for Lynn, those who visited with her, those who planned and attended fund raisers on her behalf, and for the many ways the community has supported Lynn and her family.

A Celebration of Life service for Lynn will be held on Sunday, November 28th at 6:00 PM at Elizabeth Baptist Church of Shelby, NC.


Memorials May be directed to Cecil M Burton Funeral home to offset expenses for medical, home care and funeral home services.
