Mr. Miles Donald  Bridges, 71, of  1211 Scenic Dr., Shelby, NC,  passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010. Services were held at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park.

Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his parents, H.C. and Evelyn Canipe Bridges.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Florence Pearson Bridges of the home; 2 daughters, Donna Ledford and Sandra Baker, both of Shelby; 3 sisters, Rachel Melton and husband Joe, Sarah Bridges, all of Forest City, and Teresa Bridges of Gastonia; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and a special buddy, Glen Bright of Shelby.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Calvary Baptist Church, Building Fund, 320 Old Boiling Springs Rd., Shelby, NC 28152.
