Minnie Pearl Parrott Rudisill

Mrs. Minnie Pearl Parrott Rudisill 76, of 934 West Warren Street Apt 1F, Shelby, NC passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at her residence. She was born on March 1, 1943 in Cleveland County, NC to Randolph Howard Parrott and Mary Gladys Stewart Parrott and was their eldest child.

Minnie was formerly employed with the Fair and traveled extensively with it. She took up residence Washington, DC after traveling with the Fair and was employed with Montgomery Ward in Landover Hills, MD. While there, she reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Gene and married him. She relocated back to Shelby in 1978.

Minnie was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. She was a very generous person who enjoyed meeting people, having fun and she loved to dance. She was known for her big smile. She loved her family and enjoyed doting on her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Gene Rudisill; three brothers, Stacey Parrot, Wayne Parrott and Harold "Bo" Parrott and a godsister, Beatrice Barber.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters and brother, Rosa Parrott Rose of Upper Marlboro, MD, Robbie J. Parrott Lee, Deborah Ann Parrott Howell (Calvin), Randolph Parrott (Melissa), Staria P. Littlejohn (Jimmy), Mary P. Ross (Charles) all of Shelby, Cheryl P. Hopper (Patrick) of Cherryville, NC and Karen E. Parrott Bonner (Pastor W. Scott) of Lanham, MD; two nieces who were like sisters, Yvette Haley of Upper Marlboro, MD and Lorraine Propst of Shelby; one aunt, Willie Mae Norris of Shelby; good friends, Daisey Crosby and A. J. Cunningham; godsister, Christine Ashe and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday and at other times at the home of her sister, Deborah Howell, 308 Grice St. Shelby.
