Missionaries On Horse Back...
Tim and Lynn Tuggle sold or gave away everything they had in 2010. They are from Fort Bragg, California and set out on a mission. They call themselves, “Disciples of Jesus Horsemen” and have traveled through 14 states spreading fellowship and love. They feel that Jesus will provide as they ride on horseback across the country. Their horses are mostly rescue horses and their constant companion is their dog, Chico. As far as food and lodging, they said you just have to “have faith” and the Lord will provide. Thus far, they have always had food and lodging. We caught up with them at the Price Arena, 4852 Dallas Cherryville Highway in Bessemer City. Tim was getting his horse, Tori ready for the arena ride and his wife, Lynn, was getting her horse, Bob, ready for the event. Meanwhile, Chico was very close by. When Tim is in the saddle, Chico will jump up in Tim’s arms to be with him. Soon, after leaving this area, the couple will be heading east towards New Bern, N. C. They average about 20 miles a day on the horses. Their mission is to minister to the lost and needy through prayer and care giving and also to encourage people of the United States to pray for the U. S. Military and our country’s leaders. They have also accommodated those who want to be baptized. Wherever they go, even to the worst parts of cities, the horses draw a crowd. That is when Lynn, a nurse, and Tim, a contractor, minister to the crowd. Tim will tell you that the horses are the backbone of their ministry. They have achieved their first goal and traveled on horseback from California to North Carolina. They said it is “up to God where they go from here.” They are totally committed to their mission.
