"Murder Mystery" to benefit Boys & Girls Club

Do you love a good mystery? Think you would be good at solving one? Well, you can have an opportunity to solve a murder mystery, enjoy a delicious dinner and at the same time help boys and girls in the community have an opportunity to learn about nature. It's all part of the Boys & Girls Club Murder Mystery Night taking place Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Don Gibson Theatre in Shelby.
"This is the seventh one that we have hosted, and we always have a great turn out," says organizer Susan Allen. "People laugh and have so much fun that they can't wait to do another one."
And folks don't have to wait long because the Boys & Girls Club has been hosting two murder mysteries a year - one in the spring and the other in the fall.
The mysteries are produced by the Murder Mystery Company, a group of professionally trained actors who fully immerse the audience members in the mystery by turning them into suspects and sleuths. Audience members are encouraged to deduce their way through the evening - watching scenes unfold and questioning the participants until the final moment of the show, when the killer is revealed.
Each mystery has a unique theme. Past themes have included a wedding, Christmas time, the 1950s and the 1980s. The theme for this spring's mystery is "Midnight at the Masquerade." Participants are encouraged to come dressed up for the theme, but costumes are not required.
Social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $30 each and can be purchased by calling the Don Gibson Theater at 704-487-8114 or the Boys and Girls Club at 704-471-2582.
Proceeds from the evening will go to fund the Rural Experiences for Youth, a local program that partners with the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland County that allows youngsters to participate in farm life for a week.
