Mrs. Muriel Denton, 75, of 401 N. Morgan Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010. Services were held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery.
Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Alexander and Alsie Lankford Scism; 1 daughter, Cathy Denton Ingle; 1 son, Charles Denton; 1 sister, Joanne Lane; and 1 granddaughter, Vancheskia Queen.
She is survived by 4 sons, Eddie Denton and wife Debbie of Lawndale, Barry Denton, Larry Denton and wife Pam, and Michael Hastings, all of Shelby; 2 daughters, Teresa Queen and husband Gary of Golden Valley, and Bobbie Newton and husband Jason of Cherryville; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
