Cherryville - Mrs. Myrtle Hovis Greene, 94, of Tot Dellinger Road, passed
away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Greene was born in Gaston County, NC on January 25, 1923 a daughter of
the late Julius Hovis and Lula Blackwelder Hovis. She was a homemaker and a
member of First Presbyterian Church in Cherryville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, E.G.
Greene; sisters, Essie Mae Kester, Liz Sigmon, Edna George, Lona Anthony,
Ruth Hovis and Susie Hovis; brothers, Tom, George, John and Robert Hovis

Survivors include her niece and great niece who were her caregivers, Cindy
Gales and husband, Melvin and Sara Gales and husband Glen Thorpe all of
Cherryville; also surviving are a number of other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:45AM to 12:45PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Dr. Bill Lowe
officiating.

Burial will be at City Memorial Cemetery, Cherryville.
