Nancy Ledford Byrd, age 67, of Spindale, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born November 14, 1949 in Cleveland County, she is the daughter of Jennie Tessenair Ledford who resides in Forest City and the late Hubert Adam Ledford. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1967 and also attended Isothermal Community College and received her RN Degree from the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg. Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse for over thirty years, having worked at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for many years. She was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and loved shopping, traveling and spending time with her fur baby, Chiquita.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Hill.
Besides her mother, survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" Starlene Hill of Union Mills and Cassandra Matheny Price and husband, Jason of Rutherfordton; three brothers, Alvin Ledford of Spindale, Wesley Ledford and wife, Michelle of Inman, SC and Von Ledford of Forest City. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Joy Hill, Charity Garcia, Heather Waters, Katie Waters, Lauren Swindler and one great-grandson, Adam Camacho.
Private services will be conducted for the family.
