Nancy Porter Haskin, 67, passed away at her residence on Monday, July 31, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was a native of Cleveland County and the daughter of the late Mr. Marvin Hazel Porter.

Nancy retired from Cleveland County Sheriff's Department where she worked for many years. She was an avid shopper. She enjoyed shopping for books, clothes, décor and purses and liked going out to eat. Nancy was the life of the party with a contagious laugh that everyone recognized. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loving her family more than anything.

Nancy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ben and Ava Porter; brother, Donald Porter; sisters, Janice Lane and Phyllis Hinson.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rocklin "Bud" Haskin; children, Benjy (Michelle) Benton, Margo (Matthew) Davidson, Amber Mitchell, Jorden McCormick; special daughter, Crystal McCormick; grandchildren, Caleb Petri, Malachi Addison, Derek Mitchell, Halen Davidson, Ava Davidson, Laiyah Benton, Lincoln Mitchell, Gemma Davidson; special grandchild, Ceona Archie; sisters, Brenda Laughlin, Martha Stanton and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be Friday, August 4, 2023, at 2 PM, in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, 106 Cherryville Rd, Shelby, NC, with Pastor Juan Cherry officiating. A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 1 PM - 2 PM, prior to the service. The Interment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park.
