Nancy "Tootie" Elaine Godfrey Lewis, age 79 of Shelby, passed away March 6, 2023 at Atrium Health in Shelby.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Lewis II of Kings Mountain, NC, and Frank Lewis (Shanna) of Mooresboro, NC, two grandchildren, Joshua and Kyle Lewis, a great grandson, Aiden Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born December 19, 1943 in Cherokee County, SC, Nancy was the daughter of the late John Jervey Godfrey and Bessie Parthenia Jane Ruppe Godrey and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Douglas Wayne Lewis, a sister, Belvie Sparks, and two brothers, Bobby Godfrey and Wayne Godfrey.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed playing various board games and watching old cartoons. Nancy also enjoyed nature and taking in the scenery. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Cleveland Funeral Services.
