Naomi Bertha Ross Webber
Mrs. Naomi Bertha Ross Webber, 75, of 1655 Stoney Point Rd. Shelby, NC peacefully departed this life on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Hospice on Wendover.  She was born on December 4, 1936 in Mooresville, NC to the late Joseph Leon and Mattie Leazer Glaspy.

Naomi was a member of Sills Creek A.M.E. Zion Church in Mooresville, N.C.  After graduating from high school, Naomi attended beauty school in Winston-Salem, NC where she met and married David Ross in 1956 and later relocated to Cleveland County.  Five children were born from this union. Naomi later joined Washington Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a chairman of the deaconess board, and worked with the food pantry ministry which she thoroughly enjoyed and matched her giving and selfless nature.  In addition to her church activities, Naomi was a member of the Eastern Star # 9 and served as secretary for many years.  Her additional pastimes included working in the yard and reading.  Naomi was retired from Vermont America in Lincolnton, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, David Ross and J.D. Webber and a brother, Franklin Leon Glaspy.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul David Ross and Joseph Nathaniel Ross both of Shelby, Bertha Ross Anthony of Winston-Salem, NC, Lori Ann Ross of Shelby and Jeffery Lamonte Ross (Donna) of Raleigh, NC; her step-children, Ronnie Webber (Wanda) of Bessemer City, NC, Connie Nichols (Philemon) of Charlotte, NC, Gregory Webber (Michelle) of Forest City, NC and Scottie Webber (Malaika) of Shelby; eleven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Washington Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Melvin L. Clark officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church on Thursday.
