NC Cooperative Extension Lunch & Learn Series: Powerhouse Perennials
Perennials are a large and diverse group of plants, coming in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Additionally, perennials can be found to fit nearly all situations from wet to dry and bright sun to dim shade.
But to use perennials effectively, you must first understand how they work. Perennials bloom for 4 to 8 weeks, but come back year after year. As well not having to replace them yearly, most perennials spread or seed out allowing you to expand your garden further or just give them away. After establishment nearly all are drought tolerant and low-maintenance unlike their annual counterparts.
Join us for our next “Lunch and Learn” program.
June 22nd: “Powerhouse Perennials” which will showcase low-maintenance, drought tolerant, “bang for your buck” perennials.
Please call 704-482-4365 to register by June 19 @5:00pm. Julie Flowers, Area Consumer Horticulture Agent for Cleveland and Gaston Counties, will deliver this Class. Each session is $10.00 and includes a box lunch. Program will be held at the Cooperative Extension Auditorium, 130 South Post Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
