Neil Wayne Keller, age 71, passed away December 31, 2021 at his home in Shelby.

Born in Catawba County on June 10, 1950, he was the son of the late Marvin Gamewell and Hazel Huffman Keller. In addition to his parents, Neil is preceded in death by his son, Lee Keller and a brother, Tommy Sigmon.

Neil will be remembered for his love for family and the passions he shared with them, like watching baseball, softball, and his love for old muscle cars.

Neil is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elaine Houk Keller, a sister Betty Varner and his brother Buck Sigmon. Neil is also survived by his two children, Brad Keller (Shannon) and Amy Powell (Barry). His five Grandchildren; Brooke Greene (Ethan), Victoria Powell, Jordyn Powell, Dakota Shoemaker (Marcus), Bradley Keller (Savannah) and a great grandson, Braxton Greene.

Memorial service to honor his life will be held 6:00 pm, Wednesday January 5, 2021 at the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Shane Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
