Nellie Rhymer Hoyle

Mrs. Nellie Rhymer Hoyle, age 93 of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at her residence.
She is survived by her children, Steve Whisnant of Ellenboro, NC, Carol McHenry of Forest City, NC, Larry Hoyle and wife Nellie of Havre, MT, Carolyn Hoyle Cash of Shelby, NC, Tami Hoyle Grady of Valdese, NC, and Cindy Hoyle Hudson and husband Pete of Shelby, NC, 15 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
Born April 19, 1925 in Spartanburg County, SC, Mrs. Hoyle was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Jolley Rhymer and was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Bernie Anderson Hoyle.
Nellie was a member of Village Chapel Church in Forest City, N.C. and a former member of Landmark Baptist Church in Shelby, N.C. Nellie owned and operated Bernells Hair Styling for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her many grandchildren. Mrs. Hoyle enjoyed volunteering at the Asheville V.A. for more than 5,000 hours in which she won a volunteer award. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation, American Veterans Association, and the American Legion of Shelby, N.C.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Village Chapel in Forest City, NC, conducted by Rev. Frank Ensley. A visitation will be held from 9 - 10 am prior to the service at the church. A burial will be held at 10am Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
