Nelson Fay Warren, 89, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County on July 31, 1936, the son of the late John Warren and Gattie Lee Waters Warren. He was also preceded in death by his beloved life partner, Christine Pearson
Nelson was affectionately known as the "Mower Man", always willing to help friends and family by repairing lawn mowers and other outdoor equipment. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of #24 Jeff Gordon. Nelson also enjoyed racing go-karts and spent many years building cars that his family raced.
He is survived by his two sons, Eddie Warren and Wesley Mark Warren; his daughter, Donna Warren Isaac (Mark); four grandchildren, Dalton, Harley, Kelsie, and Logan, and great-grandchildren Levi, Maverick, Holdon, Brayleigh, Kenzliegh, and Westyn. He is also survived by a host of brothers and sisters.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
