CHERRYVILLE - Nelson Joseph Millard, born December 3, 1990, went to be with his Lord, April 23, 2019.

Nelson was a wonderful son, husband, devoted father and loved by all who knew him.

Nelson is survived by his wife, Chelsea Millard of Cherryville; one daughter Aiyana Millard; two sons, Nelson, Jr. and Drake Millard of Cherryville; mother and stepfather, Laura and James Kirk of Lexington, NC; father, Allen Phillips, Jr. of Florida; grandparents, Nelson and Linda Millard of Bessemer City and Martha Gail Everett of Georgia; three aunts, Christina Westby of Ohio, Jennifer Millard of Lincolnton and Lisa Medlock of Georgia; one uncle, David Westby of Ohio; five brothers, Cory, Casey and Christian Kirk, Josh Brown and Blake Phillips; two sisters, Bethany Phillips and Jessica Lizdas; many cousins, nieces and nephews; a multitude of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Cherryville Church of God, 810 East Main Street, Cherryville, NC 28021 with Rev. Don Capell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laura Millard Kirk, 1946 NC Hwy 47, Lexington, NC 27252.
