Mrs. Nevater Denise Danso, 57, 413 Antrum Street Shelby, NC, departed this life on Thursday March 13, 2025, peacefully at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A native of Cleveland County, the daughter of the late Deacon Charles Boykins and Deaconess Bertha Camp Boykins. Nevater, known and loved to most as Denise or "Nisey" was the second born and eldest daughter of the Boykins family. From an early age Nisey devoted her life to Christ, becoming a faithful member at Mountain View Baptist Church, where she served diligently until she transitioned. Her passion for ministry was evident in the many roles she held, including singing on the Mountain View Baptist Church Gospel Choir, The Nevater Camp Songbirds, and The J.Q. Camp Ensemble. She also served in the Women's missionary ministry, as Youth Director, Sunday School teacher and the children's choir director. She had a heart for guiding and uplifting young people, leaving a lasting impact on every life she touched.

Her love for children extended beyond the church, leading her to get her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development and fulfilling a career in education. She worked for Cleveland County schools with the Head Start program, where she nurtured and inspired young minds with patience and care.

Outside of her work and ministry, Nevater found joy in cooking, cherishing moments with her family, and praising God through worship and song. She was a woman of strength and faith, meeting life's challenges with grace, including receiving a lung transplant in 2022. Through it all, her unwavering trust in God remained steadfast, serving as a testament to her resilience and unwavering spirit.
