SHELBY: Nevert Leroy "Neb" Nation Sr., 72, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. A native of Cherokee County, NC, he was to son of the late Clyde and Pauline Burrell Nations. He retired as a welder, where he work with Duke Energy, and had a love for fishing.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Nation; son, Nevert Leroy Nation Jr.; sister, Ourreen Jones; and brothers, Charles, Buddy, and Ray Nations.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Bingham and wife Natalie of Charlotte, and Rickey Dean Nation of Shelby; daughter, Rebecca Bingham of Morganton; daughter-in-law, Tana Nation of Shelby; sisters, Lou Jean Kilpatrick of Murphy, Linda Wright and husband Fred of Davidson, Nancy Walker of Walla Walla, GA., and Lois Chastain and husband Steve of Mooresville; brother, Hoyt Nations of Mooresville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 3-5pm, Saturday, at the funeral home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 5pm, Saturday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

OFFICIATING: Rev. Dwayne Barber will officiate

BURIAL: Burial will be held 12pm, Monday, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Murphy
