Nimfa "Pai" Horne

Nimfa "Pai" Horne, age 66, died peacefully April 12, 2020 at her home. Born in the Philippines on October 5, 1953 to Bonifacio and Eustaquia Getubuan Laput the world was never the same. She was beautiful, courageous, funny and smart. She was known to many for her quick wit, huge smile, and tell it how it is attitude. She could often make a bad situation better by simply telling a joke. She loved to find different ways to embarrass her daughter just to remind her not to take life too seriously. She had the magic touch in gardening and could often bring a plant that had no hope back to life. She was often the person many people went to for advice because she was able to tell you the truth whether you liked it or not. She was honest to a fault and everyone always knew where they stood with her. In addition to her parents, Pai is preceded in death by a half-brother, and "Jasmine" her loving canine companion.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mike Horne; her only child, Thea Guerra and her son in law David Guerra of Gastonia; her greatest joy in life, a grandson, Ethan Guerra; two brothers Carlo Laput and Junior Laput; five sisters, Alice, Chona, Myrna, Eda, Lene, and Nene; a host of loving nieces and nephews; her loving canine companion "Franklin"; and a host of "adopted" children who lovingly called her "Mama Pai."

Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. Guest Registry is available at www.cecilmburtonfuneralhome.com.
