Nina Marie Kesecker Ellis

Nina Marie Kesecker Ellis, 84, of Fallston Road, Shelby passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at her home.

Nina was born on January 25, 1941 in Berkley Springs, West Virginia to the late Perry Arliss Kesecker and Kathryn Elizabeth Clark Kesecker. She was a member of Norman's Grove Baptist Church. Nina was retired as the bookkeeper for the Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. and former poll chief for the Board of Elections. She was co-owner and operator of County Construction and Klassic Karaoke with her late husband, Freddie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie "Fast Freddie" Ellis and a grandson, Christopher Lee Freels.

Nina is survived by her children, Robert Freels, Cheryl Powell (Durwin), Tammy Ellis, Karen Castle, Alicia Ellis (Burnice "Bam" Miller, III) and Cynthia Cruz (Jonathan); stepson, Freddie Ray Ellis (Kim Truelove); sister, Sandra Snelgrove; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special family members Sharon Howell and Faye Cook.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 2:00pm at Norman's Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Decker and Pastor Tim Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
