Norma Jean Webster Sharp (87), beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend was called to her heavenly home on Friday, January 3, 2025.

She was predeceased by her parents Alfred W. and Mozelle Moore Webster and a brother Woody Webster. She attended Intelligence Elementary School, and Madison High School, Madison, NC; and Women's College of UNC at Greensboro, NC. She also obtained a "PHT" (Putting Hubby Through) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Norma married Douglas in 1957 and together they began a journey that brought them to Greensboro, NC, Atlanta, GA, Rockville, MD, and finally Kings Mountain, NC. Norma made friends easily in every neighborhood she lived in- and encouraged a sense of neighborliness.

She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, travelling with Doug on business trips, and hiking the C&O canal. She was a partner in Sharp & Englerth Associates.

Norma walked with the Lord and had leadership roles during her lifetime in the following churches: Comer's Chapel Baptist Church, Madison NC; Clarkston Baptist Church, Stone Mountain, GA; Lawndale Baptist Church, Greensboro, NC; First Baptist Church, Rockville MD, and First Baptist Church Shelby, NC. At FBC Shelby- she served as the Children's Librarian for 20 years and started the Summer Reading Club. It was her work in the library that she was very proud of, having worked 10 years at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD.

Survivors include her husband Douglas, son Don and wife Pam; daughter Deborah; grandsons Stephen Sharp and wife Hailey; Dr. Wilson Sharp and wife Melanie, granddaughter Maddi Lane; and great granddaughter Lilia Sharp; sisters Becky Shelley (Grady) and Charlene Martin (Mike), and brother Ronnie Webster, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Shelby NC or Friends of the Library.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Shelby. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2025 at Comers Chapel in Madison, NC. 1990 Bald Hill Loop Madison, NC 27025
