North Shelby School 2011 Graduation
Ben Ledford
Scottie Patton, head trainer of the New Orleans Saints, was the key note speaker and gave a very moving speech. He also presented an autographed football and picture of the Super Bowl Champs to each graduating student. As each student received their diploma, they were given a rose for them to present to their mother. Unexpectedly, but to the delight of the audience, Ben Ledford (shown here) had to receive the “best of the day” award. After receiving his diploma, Ben stopped, stood at the front of the stage facing the audience with his rose and exclaimed “Mama”! His excitement brought down the house. The graduation ceremony was the epitome of North Shelby’s slogan: “Never Give Up on Student Success.”
The Honors Chorus together with the Signing Choir participated in the “North Shelby School Song” which was featured at the beginning of the program. The festivities also included a visual reflection of the graduating students and their time at North Shelby. For each graduate, their parents, grandparents, family and friends, it was a great and momentous day!
