North Shelby School Celebrates 37th Annual Civitan Christmas Party
Christmas was celebrated at North Shelby School on Wednesday, December 19 with the 37th annual Civitan Christmas Party.  Early in October students are asked to make a list of their gift wishes. Teachers coordinate the activity and the list goes to the Civitans where Amy Mangum takes over with the shopping. The Civitans sponsors this party yearly with relay games, singing and a visit from Santa bringing the gifts for each student. The event begins with the North Shelby Honors Chorus, Bell Choir, and Signing Choir performing to fellow North Shelby students, Civitans, Crest High and Middle School Junior Civitans and invited guests from the Cleveland County Schools District Office and School Board. The relay games led by Travis Mangum are a friendly competition with Roger Harris and Charles Reed as judges declaring all teams as winners. The highlight of the party is the arrival of Santa with his sleigh full of gifts.  Photos Furnished by North Shelby School
