Opal A. Lowery, age 80, of Ellenboro, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, December 30, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Opal was born Saturday, February 28, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Hoyle Leonard Allred and Fannie Daves Allred. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. Opal was a dedicated Christian lady, wife, mother, sister and friend. She was known locally for her gospel singing and blessed many churches and individuals with her God-given talent. She was a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jewell, Bobby and Jerry Allred and sister, Vember Quinn.
Left to cherish fond memories are her husband of fifty-eight years, Wayne Lowery; son Brian Lowery (Renee) of Ellenboro; sister, Rose Nanney (Marvin) of Mooresboro.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 6th at the Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sam Henderson and Reverend Robert Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home on the day of the service.
