Opal Lee Bridges Davis
 Opal Lee Bridges Davis, 93, of Fair Haven Home in Rutherfordton, formerly of Polkville, passed away Wednesday September 5, 2012.

 

Born November 8, 1918 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late John Frank Bridges and Essie Cook Bridges. She was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church and was retired from Threads and Stamey Stores Inc.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1984 by her husband, Robert Lee Davis, four brothers, Garrett, Boyd, Kermit, & Fred Bridges, and one sister, Marjorie Lancaster.

 

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Joyce Davis and Steve & Clifta Davis all of Polkville, two daughters & son-in-law, Pat & Joel Stewart of Norwalk, CT and Wanda Gray of Decatur, GA, one brother, Bill Bridges of Forest City, one sister, Joan Dotson of Raleigh, seven grandchildren, Tammy Eaker, Matthew Davis, Daniel Gray, Holly Morgan, Kara Stewart, Lisa Walker, and LeAnn Holland, and twelve great grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM Friday at Sandy Plains Baptist Church and other times at the home of Robert & Joyce Davis Eastwood Drive in Polkville.

 

The funeral service will be at 11:00AM Friday at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with the Revs. Garin Hill and David Webb officiating.

 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
