Ora Supermarket On Track To Re-Open April 1st!
Bulo Price stands in front of the rebuilding of the Ora Supermarket at 1026 E. Marion Street. Mr. Price is the owner of the market and said he is pleased with the progress. The building is being rebuilt after a nighttime fire last November 3rd took its toll. He said the opening is planned for April 1st. Reverend Price said there will be many new features. The outdoor market area will feature 450 square feet out front and will be fully covered. Ora’s popular meat market will be expanded adding more fish, fresh ice packed chickens and pork. The new four decker meat counter will display select, choice cuts and grass fed beef.
The market will have Amish butter, canned goods and a full line of Amish candies and will exclusively offer Ashe County cheeses. There will be a new line of homemade stuffed sausage links. The popular Broad River hams and country hams will return. For the livermush fans, Ora will still offer their popular dish pan livermush and add the Hunter’s brand. At their grand opening the market will feature, for three hours, an item they sold 70 years ago at the same price.....Chickens for 19 cents a pound!
