Pamela "Pam" Davis Fish

Pamela "Pam" Davis Fish, 65, of Shelby, North Carolina, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family and friends after a courageous, years-long battle with cancer.

Born in Shelby to Max and Elizabeth Davis, Pam was the oldest of three children and a lifelong member of the community she loved so deeply. She graduated from Crest High School and Gardner-Webb University, where she formed lasting friendships and a lifelong connection to the Bulldog community. Pam was also a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church.

Pam's greatest joys in life were her family and her students. She was married to her husband and best friend, Harry "Woody" Fish, with whom she shared countless adventures, laughter, and love. Together they raised two children, Branden Templeton (Shannon) and Patrick Fish (Maddie), and were blessed with three grandchildren, Harrison (10), Hayes (8), and Collins (4), who were the light of her life.

A beloved educator, Pam taught Physical Education for more than 30 years in Haywood, Durham and multiple Cleveland County schools. Her enthusiasm for fitness and wellness extended beyond the classroom as she founded multiple jump rope teams and was known for her creative energy and dedication to helping children thrive.

Pam was also deeply involved in her community. She served on several committees at Gardner-Webb University and was a fixture at the Shelby Farmers Market, where she greeted everyone with her bright smile while selling her handmade lavender products. She had a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.

She loved traveling the country with Woody in their RV, attending NASCAR races and college football games, and meeting new friends along the way. She adored her pets (dogs, Missy and Maverick and cat, Creamy), often opening her home to stray dogs and cats. Pam supported causes close to her heart, including the American Heart Association, the Shelby Humane Society, and the Gardner-Webb Bulldog Club and Athletics Department.

Pam will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. Friends and family describe her as a gentle soul who would do anything for anyone. She lived her life in service to others with love, laughter, and grace.

She is survived by her husband Woody; children Branden and Patrick; grandchildren Harrison, Hayes, and Collins; her sister Sherrie Clark and brother-in-law Terry Clark of Shelby; and a large extended family of friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Elizabeth Davis, and her brother, Mark Davis.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all who supported Pam throughout her journey--especially her sister Sherrie Clark; Cheryl Nix of Denver; Denise Hamrick of Boiling Springs; Jus Askren of Nashville and Mike and Jan Stutts of Durham--for their steadfast love and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shelby Humane Society (https://www.shelbyhumane.org), Breast Cancer Research Foundation (https://give.bcrf.org) and American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org).
