Parker James Earl,

Parker James Earl, beloved son and brother, passed away on February 12, 2026 at the young age of 16.

Born on November 3, 2009 in Cleveland County, Parker's vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who knew him. He always had a witty "dad joke" at the ready. His sweet nature was equally balanced with determination and a strong work ethic.

Parker's life was a testament to his dedication to academics and athletics as a student at Crest High School. His love for sports was evident in his active participation in football and his true passion, baseball. Parker's talents on the field were matched only by his camaraderie with his teammates, especially the members and coaches of the UCLA Cubs who became like brothers to him. His commitment to the game continued as he proudly represented the Junior Legion Team in Shelby.

Beyond the baseball diamond and the football field, Parker was a cherished member of Double Shoals Baptist Church, and was deeply involved in various youth groups including Zion Baptist and Poplar Springs Baptist. His involvement with Young Life at Crest further showcased his dedication to his faith and his community. Family beach trips, yearly hunting trips, and travel baseball tournaments were also loves for Parker, and fed his zest for life.

Parker's adventurous spirit and his love for the outdoors were evident in his fondness for animals and working on the farm. His spirited nature and sense of humor were a source of endless entertainment and inspiration to his friends and family.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his parents, Greg Earl and Katie Earl, and her husband, Daniel Shires. His brother, Cooper Earl; his grandparents, Lucille Earl, Ronnie Spangler, and Mike and Lavonda Shires; and his extended family, including Josh and Brooke Spangler (Bryce and Taylor), Todd and Maureen Earl (Henry and Lucy), Margie and Stephen Christopher, Mary Ann and Dobbin Lattimore, and Beth Sibley and husband Doug Stolte will all cherish his memory. Parker is preceded in death by his two grandparents, Jim Earl and Ginger Spangler.

Parker's life, though brief, was marked by his funny, adventurous, and spirited nature. His impact on those around him was profound, and his absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his remarkable spirit.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Double Shoals Baptist Church, Shelby.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 2:30 PM in the Crest High School Auditorium with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Double Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Double Shoals Baptist Church, 318 Old Mill Road, Shelby, NC 28150.
