Patricia DePriest King, 79, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Peak Resources, Cherryville.

Born in Cleveland County, on August 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Gold DePriest and Sue Kathryn Warlick DePriest. She was retired from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Bennett King and older brother Donald Depriest.

She is survived by her two sons, Bennett S. King and wife Karla, of Asheville and Dr. P. Brent King and wife Sheda, of Huntersville; two daughters, Jessica K. Schroeder and husband Corey, of Richmond, VA and Emily Vonpfahl of Shelby; nine grandchildren, Madeline K. Hannigan and husband Rob, Christian S. King and wife Caitlin, Meredith E. King, Mia S. King, Noah B. King, Henry L. Schroeder, Kathryn C. Schroeder, Charlotte B. Vonpfahl and Thomas J. Vonpfahl; and three great grandchildren, Elena King, Bennett Hannigan, and Christian King.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2:30 pm at Clover Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
