Patricia King Mullen

Patricia King Mullen, 72, passed away December 2, 2022.

A native of Philadelphia, PA., she was born to the late James and Patricia King. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister Maryanne Johnson and Godfather Jim McNelis.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Joseph P. Mullen, son John Sharkey and wife Devon of Greenville, SC, daughters Patricia Robertson and husband Dan of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Maureen Mullen of Raleigh and Kathryn Noblitt and husband William of Raleigh; sisters Denise Sinclair and husband Tom of Broomall, PA, Michele Fulginiti and husband Dan of Downingtown, PA and Kathy Donnelly of Carolina Beach, NC; brothers Jim King and wife Cindy of Princeton, NJ and Michael King and wife Judy of Chester, PA; grandchildren Cameron, Carson, Griffin, Savannah, Lilah, Jack, Chris, Grace, Miller, Reese, Ellis and Sullivan; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pat lived every day of her life in faithful service to God and her family and friends. She will be most remembered for her deep devotion to her Catholic faith and her steadfast prayer life. She possessed a warm personality, sparkling sense of humor, and was outgoing and kind to every person she met. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones and thoroughly enjoyed traveling with Joe to visit her children, grandchildren and extended family. Pat never missed an opportunity to cook or bake for others, and she often showed her love through the food she shared. She was also known for her sage advice that created a profound impact on the lives of those around her. Even throughout her illness, she always thought of others first - selflessly offering up her suffering and many sacrifices. She is deeply loved and greatly missed by many.

Funeral Services will be held both in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Relatives and friends are invited on Friday, December 9 at 10 am for a rosary being said at Pat's home church, St. Mary Help of Christians Parish, 818 McGowan Road, Shelby, NC 28150. Funeral Mass to follow at 11 am. After Mass, all are welcome to attend a funeral luncheon being held at the church hall. On Sunday, December 11 a visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 6:50 pm at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Memorial Mass to follow at 7:00 pm. Pat's inurnment will take place in the columbarium at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville, South Carolina in the very near future.

The family kindly asks that no flowers be sent but instead donations can be made in Pat's name to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church or Hospice of Cleveland County
