Mr. Patrick Allen Byrd, 63, departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at his residence. He was born on August 13, 1961, in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Walter Byrd Jr. and Ruth Wright Byrd.

Patrick was a 1979 graduate of Burns High School. He worked at Century Furniture in Hickory, NC for more than 30 years. He was a faithful member of Jesus Way Mission. He had a loving spirit and didn't meet a stranger. He made people feel comfortable and would give you the shirt off his back if you asked him for it.

Patrick was a caring person, taking great pride in taking care of his grand- nephew. He loved watching game shows and sports and was a diehard Pittsburg Steeler and Duke fan.

He leaves his legacy of love to his sisters, Terry Byrd, Norma Byrd, and Teresa Lackey, all of Shelby; his brothers, Donald Wright (Barbara) of Spartanburg, SC, Danny Hopper (Dorothy) and Walter 'Dickie' Hopper, both of Shelby, NC; aunt, Dorothy Johnson of Hickory, NC; special nephew, Francois Byrd of Shelby, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel in Shelby, NC at 3:30 p.m. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
