Mrs. Patsy Jane Pearson Russ, age 72, died Thursday March 28, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Rutherford County on July 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Louise Pearson Nix. Mrs. Russ was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time working with flowers in the yard and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family and looked forward to spending time with them. She retired from J&C Dyeing and later work for Putnam Distributors.

Mrs. Russ is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ray Russ; two sons, Scotty Russ and wife Brenna of Lawndale, and Chris Russ and wife Leah of Shelby; two sisters, Judy Dobbins and husband Ricky of Shelby and Elizabeth Lambert of Boiling Springs; three brothers, Donald Rollins of Spartanburg SC, Troy Nix and wife Becky of Rutherfordton, John Nix and wife Gail of Mooresboro; three grandchildren, Christian Russ, Amber Pearce and husband Eric, and John Warren, Jr., and one great grandson, Conner Ray Pearce.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Eugene Passmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, an hour before the service and other times at the home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
