Patsy Louise Eaves Hopper

Ms. Patsy Louise Eaves Hopper, 63, of 232 Davis Road Shelby, NC passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Citadel Myers Park in Charlotte, NC. She was born on September 23, 1956 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Arthur Eaves, Sr. and Lizzie Lee Dawkins Eaves.

She was a 1973 graduate of Burns High School. She retired from PPG after 22 years, afterwards she worked at Wal-mart in Shelby while attending Cleveland Community College becoming a CNA, working at The Sterling House in Shelby. A few years later she became a Phlebotomist and worked at Cleveland Regional Hospital (now Atrium Health) in Shelby. She also worked at Gaston County Health Department in Gastonia and LabCorp. She also worked at a few Doctor's Offices before becoming disabled.

She became a member of Hopewell Baptist Church at an early age. She was very active on the Usher Board. She attended Washington Baptist Church in Waco, NC. She later attended Christ Community Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC.

She loved to cook, especially baking. Her specialties were Cherry Yum Yums and Congo Squares, among many others. She loved helping other people, and was always found doing charity work, with food banks, and assisting the elderly and those in need. She also loved to shop at flea markets. She was a very thoughtful and giving person, but also a no-nonsense person who said what she meant, and meant what she said, regardless of whom or what. She was loved and respected by many.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Arthur Jr. and Belvin Eaves), and one sister (Dorothy Eaves Lowe). She leaves to mourn two daughters; Calandra Hopper McKnight (Curtis) of Lawndale, NC; Renata' Hopper of Shelby, NC; one adopted son, Titus Hopper (Michelle) and is survived by four grandchildren, MiShayla Hopper, Hassiem McKnight, Johari McKnight and Te'Laiyah Byers; one brother; Franklin Eaves, of Atlanta, GA; five sisters; Martha Eaves Winston, of Shelby; Emma Eaves McGill Roseboro, MD; Barbara Eaves Jackson of Raleigh; Brenda Eaves Moses (Alvin) of Shelby; and Alma Eaves Jackson (Kenneth) of Shelby; one sister-in-law; Wanda Eaves Guest, of Shelby, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Ms. Hopper will be private. The service will be live streamed on Facebook starting at 10:45 AM. She may be viewed at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com. Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
