Pauline (Polly) Wright

Pauline (Polly) Wright, age 95 of Shelby, NC, went to her heavenly home on February 28, 2021.

Born in Cleveland County on August 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Robert Brantley Spake and Ottie McNielly Spake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Clayton Wright, son, Phillip Keith Wright, son-in-law, Harold Lemons, one sister, Madeline Spake, and two brothers, Dennis Spake and Zane Spake.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lemons of Shelby, NC, two brothers, Jack Spake and wife Dora of Morganton, NC, and Don Spake of Mooresville, NC, one sister, Betty Chapman of Morganton, NC, and a daughter-in-law, Lucille Wright Evans of Earl, NC. She is also survived by grandchildren; Ryan Lemons, Jennifer Bartlett and husband Craig, adopted-in-love, Lainee Smith and husband Toby, John Evans and wife Samantha, great grandchildren; Ashlyn and Andrew Bartlett, and several nieces and nephews.

Pauline was a longtime and dedicated member of Double Springs Baptist Church. She always looked forward to attending her Sunday School Class. Pauline enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful flowers, and most of all helping those in need. She was an accomplished seamstress and a great cook. Sunday's at her house were a time of family fellowships and good food. During her life, she made many friends and cherished each one. She loved music, especially the old hymns. Pauline retired from Fasco after 12 years of service as an assembler.

The family would like to express a sincere thanks to nurses, aids, and staff at Hospice of Cleveland County for the loving care that they gave Pauline during her illness.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Double Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Those in attendance will be required to wear a mask and implement social distancing. Pauline will lie in state at the funeral home Wednesday, March 3, 2021 for anyone that wants to sign the register book.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Double Springs Baptist Church, 1130 Double Springs Church Road, Shelby, NC 28150 or to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
