A native of Shelby, she was the daughter of the late John Norman and Clara Beam Norman. She was a graduate of Shelby High School and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Deana Lee Anthony Phillips and husband David Milton Phillips, Jr.; two grandsons, David Joseph Phillips and Daniel Anthony Phillips of Shelby; two sisters, Louise Norman Burch of Forest City and Carol Norman Jenkins of Gastonia.
Ms. Norman was preceded in death by two brothers, John Norman and Ben Norman; three sisters, Sara Lee Norman, Betty Norman Eskridge and Geraldine Norman Weaver.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Oliver officiating. The family will greet friends and family after the service in the sanctuary.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff of White Oak Manor of Shelby for the care they provided to Ms. Norman.
