Peggy Lou Ortiz

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Peggy Lou Ortiz, 61, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.

Peggy's life was a beautiful reflection of love, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her family, Known for her open arms and giving spirit, she welcomed everyone as if they were family. Her heart belonged not only to those closest to her but to her entire community. She lived by the principle of loving thy neighbor and left a lasting impact on all who had the joy of knowing her.

She found deep joy in caring for others--often through baking, where her kitchen became a place of warmth and comfort for family, friends, and anyone in need. Whether it was a birthday, or a family or friends gathering, Peggy's presence--and her Cakes--were always a gift. She took pride in every endeavors, gardening, where her green thumb turned simple soil into beauty that bloomed and erased all problems for anyone visiting.

Peggy is survived by her beloved husband, Ramon Ortiz; her children: Rozanna Gipson (Jeremy Gipson), Amelia Ortiz, Carmela Ortiz (Beto Cuellar), and Nicolas Ortiz (Jhoseph Baron); and her eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sherry Phelps, and brother, Bruce Harris.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Roy Harris; Mother, Charlotte Harris; and Brother, James Harris.

Peggy's legacy is one of love, faith, and compassion. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her example and a community forever touched by her kindness.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
