Peggy M. Ledford, age 76, of Ellenboro, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Cleveland Pines in Shelby.

Peggy was born Wednesday, September 6, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Frank L. McDaniel and Virginia Pearl Tate McDaniel. She worked at Cone Mills/Haynes Plant and for Hamrick Mills for many years before retirement. Peggy was a member of Crossway Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, reading and especially having conversations while sitting on her front porch. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar C. Ledford; brother, Johnny McDaniel; great granddaughter, Haven Ledford and a great-great grandchild.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Rodney Ledford (Bonnie) of Ellenboro and Daniel Ledford of Rutherford County; daughter, Ostine Medina (Santos) of Ellenboro; two brothers, Frank McDaniel of Cleveland County and Donald Craig of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Sylvia Geer of Rutherfordton; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Billy Cogdell officiating. Interment will follow at Gantt's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
