Peggy T. Mayse, age 86, of Salem Church Road, Bostic, NC, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Peggy was born April 21, 1932 in Polk County, NC to the late John M. Taylor, Sr. and Esther Wilson Taylor. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1950 and was of the Baptist faith. Peggy was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax practitioner for forty-three years and retired from PPG. She was an avid rose gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-nine years, Ray Mayse; two sons, Dr. R. Scott Mayse (Sarah) of Charlotte and Jeff G. Mayse (Dale) of Rutherfordton; three daughters, Kay Cymbalski (Bob) of Rutherfordton, NC, Susan M. Hollifield (Mike) of Bostic and Sharon Arrowood of Gastonia, NC; two brothers, John M. Taylor, Jr. (Zelia) and Tommy Taylor (Janice) both of Forest City and a sister, Doris McDonald (Russell) of Rock Hill, SC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
