Penny K. Hardin, age 65, of Forest City, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Nana's Assisted Living.
Born February 8, 1952 in Trenton, New Jersey, she was a daughter to the late Henry and Marie Kirchner. Penny worked as a legal secretary for many years, which included the Fairfax Virgina District Attorney's office and the Central Intelligence Agency. She also was a deputy clerk for the Rutherford County Superior Court and worked for various law firms in Rutherford County. Penny was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Barrett Hardin and ex-wife, Debra of Port Charlotte, Florida and Jason Hardin and wife, Amie of Forest City; one sister, Pam Brennan and husband, Dave of Anchorage, Alaska. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Reece Hardin, Hayes Hardin, Bry Hardin and Chloe Hardin.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior service time at the funeral home.
