Forest City- R Retta Hawkins age 93 went home to her Lord Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Fair Haven of Forest City. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Hester Humphries. She spent her life as a homemaker and loved cooking and canning for her family and friends which they loved her Blackberry Cobbler. Retta also made quilts for her grandchildren and also enjoyed reading her bible to the family. Retta will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She was a member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband June "Sam" Hawkins; five brothers, one sister, one son Ronnie Hawkins and one grandchild.

SURVIVORS: Left to cherish her memory is one son Robert Hawkins and wife Linda of Ellenboro; one daughter June Green and husband Rickey of Ellenboro; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday October 6, 2017 from 6-8pm at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC

SERVICES: The funeral services will be Saturday October 7, 2017 at 4pm at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC

INTERMENT: Cleveland Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, NC
